Bear Buddies Read Together

In first and second grade your child was learning to read.  In third grade your child will be working hard on comprehension strategies so that he/she is reading to learn.  Connecting, predicting, imaging, self-questioning, summarizing and inferencing are the comprehension skills.  Along with these strategies we will be working on the skills of recognizing sequence of events, main idea and details, drawing conclusions, deciding between fact and opinion, comparing and contrasting texts, point of view, as well as cause and effect relationships within selections.  Each month the skill or strategy will be highlighted for you.
